The Dolsen Family

Our family has been involved with United Way for four generations. We believe that we need to support the community that supports us, and the Yakima Valley has been good to all our family businesses (Bob's CPA Practice), Automat, Coca-Cola, Dolsen Leasing and the Cow Palace). We do so with carefuly consideration, especially towards "accountability", and that is where United Way truly shines.

Bob and Ruth were Pillars from the very beginning, and in 2004 they were honored with the Alexis de Tocqueville Award for their ongoing commitment and leadership to United Way and the Valley. While Bob was definitely involved behind the scenes, his other major contribution to United Way was encouraging Bill's participation, as Campaign Chair and then President of the Board. As our children enter the family-owned business, they too become supporters of United Way.

Our belief in United Way extends to our support of the United Way Foundation as the ideal way to "expand and perpetuate the impact of United Way."

'We are especially drawn to the Foundation's goal of establishing an endowment fund that will cover United Way's annual overhead, assuring that more campaign funds go directly to support community programs.

We also value the Foundation's very strong local leadership. All have a passion for United Way, and are committed, as we are, to seeing a secure United Way providing the needed help in our community for generations to come.

It is our hope that you will look closely into the United Way Foundation when it comes to future gifts or bequests. United Way has a strong and trustworthy heritage of caring that is worthy of all our support.
