Gift Planning

The United Way of Central Washington Foundation was established in 1996, to provide a vehicle for United Way to accept bequests, and other gifts made outside of the annual fundraising campaign.

United Way is nationally respected as a trusted steward of contributions made by large and small philanthropists. In Yakima and Kittitas Counties, more United Way supporters each year are enhancing their lifelong commitment to the community by giving to the Foundation. Together, we are ensuring that the future of United Way is strong and secure far beyond our lifetimes.

The Foundation has two Endowments. One will eventually cover the entire overhead cost of operating the annual campaign. The second endowment will enhance the annual campaign to ensure steady support of United Way partners and programs during tough times. A third fund remains open to support capital or start-up projects which are not eligible for United Way community investment from the annual campaign.

Please consider how the United Way Foundation might fit into your long-term plans.

Visit the United Way resource site for complete information on planned giving.

As a strong supporter of United Way, you can continue the legacy of your giving far into the future by:

  • Endowing your annual Pillar contribution
  • Naming the Foundation as a beneficiary of an IRA, avoiding taxes on the required withdrawal
  • Include the Foundation in your estate planning. There are many options to choose from.

Thank you for your continuing support of United Way.
