Homelessness is a serious issue in Yakima County. Those who are homeless typically have a variety of needs, and no one service provider can do it all. The Homeless Network of Yakima County is a collaboration of agencies, organizations and service providers which work together to connect existing resources and create a "wraparound" system of support and change. Each year, United Way supports the Network’s Project Homeless Connect, a one-day service fair which brings many Network members together in one location. The event makes it easier for people who are homeless to connect with community services.
