The Financial Success Center is United Way of Central Washington's one-stop financial capability center, offering an array of resources to area residents, including financial education and coaching, benefits screening, and income tax assistance.

Who We Serve

For ALICE (Asset Limited Income Constrained and Employed) families—those who work hard yet struggle to make ends meet—navigating financial instability can feel overwhelming. UWCW’s Financial Success Center offers a powerful support system designed to break that cycle. We believe that creating equitable and low barrier programs is necessary in our communities. By providing the listed integrated services, the Financial Success Center empowers families to build lasting stability and a brighter future.

• 15.4% of population in Yakima and Kittitas Counties live below the poverty line.
• Rural communities are banking deserts.
• In Washington, 38% of all households are below the ALICE threshold.

What We Offer

Matched Savings Program
1:1 matched savings to support goals like starting a business, buying a car or home, paying debt, or furthering education.

Financial Coaching and Support
Certified financial coaches provide one-on-one support to help identify solutions and overcome barriers to long-term financial success.

Workforce
Employment coaches guide you through the application process and help build resumes to develop applicable skills in the workforce.

Benefit Screening
Using a comprehensive process through Benefit Kitchen, we screen for local, state, and federal benefits so no resource is left on the table.

Free Tax Preparation
Free tax prep for eligible filers, powered by IRS-certified VITA volunteers.
